Dads’ Groups Improve School Community

A study into the impact of school-based dads’ groups has shown that peer-support programs have a positive influence on the wellbeing of children, their fathers and the community. The research was published in the Health Promotion Journal of Australia.
   Engaged, positive fathering significantly improves children’s outcomes from academic performance and resilience to mental health and relationships.

The Key to Keeping Teachers in Rural Settings

A new study has found that building connections to country can help retain teachers rural and regional areas in jobs.
   Community connections provide fulfilment for country teachers, teachers need targeted training for remote and regional postings and a more racially literate approach in Indigenous communities. Education's Role in Protecting Democracy

Somehow, quite quickly, democracy in the USA, once the world’s paradigm for that political system, is shuddering. Sadder still, much of it might have been prevented should education around democracy and its importance have been promoted.
   Children should experience democracy firsthand in the early years of education, communities must be encouraged to ensure democracy is generational.

Empowering Educators: The Hide N Seek Eating Disorder Ambassador Program in Australian Schools

Despite their prevalence, eating disorders often go undetected due to stigma, limited awareness, and a lack of understanding - particularly within the school system.
   Recognising the critical role schools can play in early identification and support, the Hide N Seek Foundation created the Eating Disorder Ambassador Program - an initiative designed to equip educators with the tools and confidence to support students experiencing disordered eating. Read more
